On 23 September 2025, SSI SCHÄFER welcomed more than 20 intralogistics consultants and supply chain experts from the DACH region for the third consecutive year to the exclusive “Day of Intralogistics” event series at its Technology Center in Giebelstadt near Würzburg. The agenda focused on industry requirements, smart automation, as well as innovations and solutions from the SSI SCHÄFER Group’s system portfolio. The event provided a platform for knowledge transfer, exchange, and networking.
Peter Edelmann, CEO of the SSI SCHÄFER Group, expressed his appreciation for the positive response to the newly established event formats for customers and partners: “Decisions in intralogistics represent major steps for companies and require a high level of trust in the partners involved. We work every day to earn this trust through our performance capabilities, our product and solution portfolio, and our reliability as a partner. Events like the ‘Day of Intralogistics’ are an important building block of this commitment.”
Operators of warehouses and logistics centers are currently facing high demands and increasing dynamics. Despite additional challenges – from labor shortages and rising costs to increasing service expectations – they are successfully mastering these tasks. At the “Day of Intralogistics,” SSI SCHÄFER presented proven solutions for targeted automation, digital process optimization, and sustainable technologies designed to address these challenges effectively.
Highlights in the field of mobile robotics included the live demonstration of the RackBot system. The advantage of combining RackBot with shelving systems lies in significantly increasing storage density and throughput in goods-to-person operations compared to conventional solutions. Thanks to the plug-and-play principle, RackBot systems can be integrated quickly and easily into existing warehouse environments. The solution grows with operational requirements and can be expanded effortlessly.
The live presentation of the FastBots solution also drew strong interest. A fleet of high-performance robots moves flexibly between storage areas and workstations, transporting various load carriers such as trays, cartons, bins, or polybags. An intelligent fleet controller provides precise control, enables free movement within the facility, optimizes routes in real time, and ensures smooth material flow – replacing rigid conveyor technology. The result is a highly dynamic, scalable automation solution that can be adapted at any time to changing operational needs.
