Premiere: New Short Gearboxes
A particular highlight is the world premiere of Nabtesco’s short gearbox technology. This harmonic-drive innovation delivers a significant performance boost and opens up new perspectives for robotics and automation in terms of performance, efficiency and compactness. Applications that require extremely high precision in very limited installation spaces benefit especially from these strengths.
Precision Gears for Active Exoskeletons
Among the exhibits is an exoskeleton. For the RISE student project at TU Berlin, Nabtesco co-developed six actuators consisting of a harmonic drive, electric motor and position sensors. Replicating a humanoid musculoskeletal system at this level is a tremendous challenge – and is only possible with truly backlash-free, compact gear solutions.
Pan & Tilt System for Mobile Applications
The Pan & Tilt system demonstrates how precision, reliability and safety can be ensured even in mobile environments. Two compact, backlash-free harmonic-drive actuators enable precise image stabilization and accurate target tracking in moving platforms. With its controller-independent concept and high modularity, the system also offers maximum flexibility for users.
Complete Scalability up to 70,000 Nm
