At SPS – Smart Production Solutions 2025 (Booth 7-340 in Hall 7), Yaskawa is placing a clear focus on “#onesourcesolutions” built around the iCube Control automation platform, combining Motion Control, Drives and Robotics into one unified approach.
In addition, the solutions provider will present integrated control concepts and new inverter variants that help machine builders shorten their time to market — particularly important in challenging economic times — for example by enabling multiple engineers to work on the same project simultaneously.
iCube Control Platform
The iCube Control platform is based on Phoenix Contact’s open PLCnext Technology and combines classic PLC programming (IEC 61131-3) with modern high-level languages such as C/C++, C# or MATLAB® Simulink® — all within a real-time Linux environment with cybersecurity according to IEC 62443.
Yaskawa extends this foundation with deep expertise in Motion Control and Robotics, creating a powerful automation system that seamlessly integrates hardware and software and significantly simplifies the development of mechatronic systems.
In the current version, for example, delta and SCARA robots can be integrated into handling, packaging or other complex systems without the need for an additional robot controller, synchronized directly with Yaskawa servo technology. As demonstrated in two live cells at the booth, this not only offers the practical advantages of a unified automation platform but also reduces the number of required components.
The demo cells also highlight how iCube Control reaches its full potential when paired with the Sigma-X high-end AC servo system, the latest evolution of the Sigma series. Sigma-X offers highest-level motion performance, including vibration suppression and friction compensation, while further simplifying handling and commissioning.
Machine Integrated Robotic Approach: “#onesourcesolutions”
This combination forms the basis of the Machine Integrated Robotic concept “#onesourcesolutions”: because multiple robots and servo drives can be controlled using only one single controller, system integration becomes significantly simpler and operational efficiency increases.
As a broad-based solutions provider, Yaskawa can deliver all required elements from a single source — from individual components and software to complete turn-key systems. Robotics, drive technology, motion control, HMI, I/O and IIoT readiness are seamlessly integrated, making this system unique in the market.
New Inverters
Yaskawa is also presenting the new HV600 inverter, developed specifically for building automation. With its HVAC-oriented functions for controlling fans, pumps and compressors, the HV600 series exceeds the industry’s existing requirements. In industrial applications, the HV600 sets new benchmarks for flexibility, control capabilities and uptime.
Another new product is the U1000 Floor Standing solution, a state-of-the-art inverter based on Yaskawa’s innovative matrix technology. This configurable package provides a robust and reliable cabinet solution designed for harsh industrial environments using the U1000’s DC-link-free technology. With full regenerative capability and compliance with IEEE519 harmonic standards, the U1000 cabinet solution represents a future-proof system — setting new standards for power quality and energy efficiency.
In addition, the U1000 Floor Standing solution offers high configuration flexibility for a wide range of industrial applications with stringent requirements for efficiency, availability and sustainability.
