At SPS 2025, LANG GmbH & Co. KG (www.lang.de) will present its LSMART express positioning system. Manufacturing equipment is becoming increasingly complex: machine builders must achieve short cycle times, highly precise motion and synchronized multi-axis processes. At the same time, requirements for repeatability and low-vibration operation are rising – particularly in fields such as micro-assembly. The LSMART express control system supports machine builders in meeting these demands efficiently and reproducibly. LANG will showcase the solution in Hall 1, Booth 570.
“Our customers from industries such as machinery and equipment manufacturing require positioning systems that can control complex motion sequences precisely and dynamically, while remaining easy to integrate into their machines,” explains Thomas Kozian, Managing Director of LANG GmbH & Co. KG. “That is exactly why we developed LSMART express. The control system, drives and axes are perfectly coordinated. This enables fast machine integration and flexible adaptation to individual requirements.”
LSMART express: One System, Many Possibilities
The LSMART express product family consists of a master unit and four high-performance drives with a rated power of up to 400 W and a peak power of 1,250 W per axis. The integrated drives support both 2- and 3-phase synchronous motors in field-oriented control as well as stepper motors. Market-leading microstep resolution, adaptive position control and precise DC motor regulation ensure dynamic and virtually vibration-free motion – even in complex multi-axis applications.
The control system is available in various housing formats: desktop, 19-inch rack or control cabinet enclosure, PCI Express card, or built into an industrial PC. Using the free LANG API and WIN-Commander software – including an integrated oscilloscope function – machines can be easily configured, monitored and operated. LSMART express is also available as an OEM device and can be customized and branded to meet customer requirements.
Proven in LANG’s Own Machine Manufacturing
LSMART express is also used in LANG’s in-house developed machines. This ensures a well-proven system architecture, increases reliability and reduces implementation risk for machine builders.
“The fact that we use our own control system in several of our milling, laser and digitizing machines is a major advantage,” says Thomas Kozian. “We know from firsthand experience what truly matters in practical applications. This expertise directly influences the ongoing development of LSMART express.”
