REHACARE INTERNATIONAL 2025 – International diversity and innovations

REHACARE INTERNATIONAL 2025 came to an impressive close. More than 34,000 visitors from 88 countries gathered to discover innovations and solutions for independent living from over 800 exhibitors representing 40 nations. This once again underscored the international leading trade fair’s role as a premier platform for rehabilitation, prevention, inclusion, and care.

Breakthroughs in digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) stood out prominently: digital nursing assistance systems, telemedicine applications, care robots, smart care beds, and numerous other innovations highlighted the immense potential to sustainably transform rehabilitation and care. These developments promise improved patient outcomes, greater efficiency, and enhanced quality of life.

REHACARE as a hub and marketplace for innovation

“REHACARE is far more than a trade fair – it is a dynamic forum for encounters, innovation, and social change, with people at its heart,” emphasizes Marius Berlemann, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf. “With over 800 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, a broad technical program, and a strong community, it is clear that REHACARE INTERNATIONAL serves as both enabler and platform for innovation. It actively shapes the future of inclusion and self-determination, while remaining a vibrant space for exchange.”

“For start-ups like Incontalert, REHACARE is the central platform for building valuable contacts. The trade fair gives us a unique opportunity to showcase our innovations and to establish strategic partnerships for the future,” explains Nico Koplanov of Incontalert.

“REHACARE is the exhibition where we present our product innovations. The major launch we were able to showcase here represents an important milestone in our international sales strategy,” says Mela Ikanovic, Deputy Managing Director and Vice President of International Sales at Lifeward.

Voices from the community

Contributions by activists Raul Krauthausen, Sabrina Lorenz, Moritz Brückner, Katareha, Sina Schachel, and Ayleen Walter received particularly strong resonance. Their personal experiences inspired many visitors and made the diversity of perspectives immediately tangible.

REHACARE also remains a key meeting point for the medical supply trade. At the theme day organized by GesundheitsProfi, experts discussed current developments in the medical supply retail market, issues of market concentration, and the role of artificial intelligence.

The fair added a sporting dimension with special highlights: the North Rhine-Westphalia Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association (BRSNW) captivated audiences with a diverse hands-on program ranging from table tennis to para-skiing. At the same time, BRSNW celebrated its 40th anniversary at REHACARE, marking a milestone that underscores its close connection with the trade fair.

Program diversity – a focus on future topics

The accompanying forum program provided important momentum for dialogue between science, politics, associations, and practitioners. At the IFK Forum Medical Supply Retail, Dr. Susanne Eichholz-Klein addressed current challenges facing the specialist trade. Together with Techniker Krankenkasse, participants discussed the future of care, while BVMed presented practical concepts for modern assistive device provision. The focus on assistive technology – including cooperation with Sozialstiftung NRW – demonstrated how digital solutions and innovative technologies are easing everyday life for people with disabilities and fostering genuine self-determination.
